Etymology: Formed by combining the first two letters of voice, the first two letters of data, and a respelled version of phone. History and Usage: The Vodafone system was introduced by Racal in the mid eighties. Optional extras include an eardrum-shattering quadrophonic in-car stereo, car phone and constantly bleeping radiopager.
